IT IS A BLESSING AND IT IS PLEASING TO GOD TO TAKE CARE OF THE FATHERNESS.

My name is David D. Dann. I am a native of the Republic of Liberia, West Africa.  My wife, Annette M. Dann, is a native of Memphis, Tennessee, United States of America. We live in Bradenton, Florida. We are servants of God, called by Him to serve the fatherless, widows, and the unreached people of Liberia.

I met my beautiful wife in Bradenton, Florida about fifteen years.  I shared my dream with her that the Lord has called me to be a missionary to my own people in Liberia.  With a big smile, she told me that she has been called to be a missionary too, but she was not sure where the Lord wants her to go.  Without hesitation, I told her that the Lord wants her to go to Liberia. We are thankful to the Lord for what He is doing through us today.

David's  story is a reflection of Nehemiah 2:3-5, in which “Nehemiah, the king’s cupbearer said to the king, “May the king live forever! Why should my face not be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ tombs, lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire? So I prayed to the God of heaven. And I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ tombs, that I may rebuild it.” This was not a good news; but Nehemiah handled it very well by fervently praying to the heavenly Father.

David is a living replica of Nehemiah’s experience.  David had experienced excruciating pain!  Like Nehemiah, he is praying fervently to "the God of heaven" to provide partners and resources so he can rebuild the walls,  the lives of  orphans and the suffering people of Liberia.  Parallel to Nehemiah's experience, David's father and his brother, including few relatives were killed and their properties were destroyed during  the war.  He was furious when he heard that rebels have killed his parents and relatives. David immediately decided never to return to Liberia.  However, he said, "if God can forgive me, then who am I not to forgive those who wronged me?" Consequently, the Lord gave David the strength to forgive those who killed his parents and relatives.  He said, "I forgave them; I have no animosity against them from now on.  I am thankful to the Lord because He has consecrated me and my wife to use this opportunity to help those whose parents and relatives have been killed; and cannot afford to help  themselves. "

The origin of Christ's Victory International Mission of Liberia goes back to the early 1980s when David Dann, through fervent prayers, decided to come to the United States to further his study. Prior to his departure from Liberia in 1981, he  vowed to God and few reliable Christian friends that upon completion of his study, he will return home to assist his fellow Liberians in whatever way the Lord would direct him. Unfortunately, the first seven-year in search of excellence in the United States was unchallenging due to economic and immigration problems. However, despite the challenges, he firmly stood on the promises of the Lord.  Also he strongly  believes that with God all things are possible for those who love Him and do His will.

For almost seventeen years our adversary, the devil, fought furiously to hinder the ministry from getting off the ground.  However, by the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, my wife and I were privileged to travel to Liberia in April 1998 and launched the Christ’s Victory International Mission of Liberia, by establishing the Christ‘s Victory International Church of Monrovia. Since then, Lord has been  blessing the ministry spiritually and physically. Praise God we have planted the total of eight Churches in Grand Bassa, Monsurrado, and River Cess Counties respectively. In Phil. 1:6 Paul writes about being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until The day of Christ Jesus. It is our hope that the head of the organization, Jesus Christ, will not rest until He is made known to the unreached, widows, orphans, oppressed and the poor people in every corner of Liberia and beyond. Will you please join us to extend the Kingdom of God?
